25 years ago, Andrew Smith made Desert Tarantulas, a pioneering tarantula documentary, filmed entirely on location in the Sonoran Desert. Using a recently discovered master tape, we have fully restored this classic documentary (which has not been seen for over a quarter of a century) and presented it as part of a new package Desert Tarantulas & The History of Tarantula Film-making. Included are out-takes that Andrew has used to recall stories about the making of what is one of the first tarantula documentaries ever made.
